Shoya Nagata / Representative Director, IDEAL Japan Co., Ltd.
Born in 1996 in Anjo, Aichi, Japan. He researched medical AI at the Graduate School of Engineering, Nagoya University. He participated in joint research with Takeda Pharmaceutical and Mitsubishi Kyoto Hospital and published a first-author paper in the peer-reviewed Journal of Pharmacological and Toxicological Methods, published by Elsevier.
He decided to start a business in the second year of his master’s program, pursuing research and business development in parallel. In 2022, he established IDEAL Japan and began operating a web advertising business. Applying the algorithmic analysis skills developed through AI research to advertising, he built a proprietary AI-powered automation system. A professional with more than ten years of industry experience described him as “one of the top three in advertising operations.” He launched Meta and YouTube advertising for a client with no previous advertising track record and achieved a return on advertising spend (ROAS) of 2,000% under a performance-based contract. Building on this technical foundation, he now focuses on brand design and AI development, tackling clients’ challenges with the logical thinking of a researcher and the execution skills of an entrepreneur.
