Developing and delivering the matsuri AI model
Our proprietary AI model, matsuri, is designed as a fully sovereign AI. Unlike commercial cloud AI services, it is designed to let users harness AI’s full capabilities without provider-imposed output restrictions. Guided by our aim to create AI that connects people’s hearts, we are building a range of AI-driven businesses around matsuri.

Shoya Nagata
Born in 1996 in Anjo, Aichi, Japan. A graduate of the School of Engineering and Graduate School of Engineering at Nagoya University, now in his eighth year of AI research.
He began developing AI at age 22 and researched medical AI in graduate school. He participated in joint research with Takeda Pharmaceutical and Mitsubishi Kyoto Hospital and published a first-author paper in the peer-reviewed Journal of Pharmacological and Toxicological Methods. He is also named as a co-inventor on an international patent application for an arrhythmia severity classification device.
He decided to start a business in the second year of his master’s program and established IDEAL Japan in 2022. After beginning with web advertising, he now focuses on brand design and AI development.
Combining the analytical skills of a researcher with the execution skills of an entrepreneur, he turns technology into meaningful change for people and businesses.
His guiding principle is “Bringing beauty to the world.”

Research
Predicting drug-induced convulsions with machine learning
This study combines heart rate variability analysis and machine learning to detect early signs of drug-induced convulsions in cynomolgus monkeys. Shoya Nagata is the first author of the paper, published in the peer-reviewed Journal of Pharmacological and Toxicological Methods.
